This web site is designed to show only items of stock that are still available for sale, but it is still remotely possible that an item could be sold during your visit to the web site. In the unlikely event that an item has been sold by the time that you place your order, we will inform you by return e-mail and return any monies paid..
Please be aware that, as we attend various militaria fairs throughout the year, it is possible that an item shown on this website may have been sold over a weekend period when we are at such events. The site cannot be updated until we return.

Orders can also be placed by letter, telephone or email if you wish, in which case please be aware that an item may have already been sold by the time your order reaches us. If ordering by these methods, please identify the items required by the stock item number shown.
Acknowledgment & Acceptance of Orders
No contract will exist between you and us until we have received full payment from you and have dispatched the ordered products. Please note that our initial acknowledgment of your order does not constitute acceptance of that order. You may also receive a payment acknowledgment email from Paypal, this again does not constitute acceptance of that order.

All orders are subject to a postage, packing & handling charge. The correct postage charges for the order will be automatically calculated via our Shopping basket ordering system and are based on the total weight and/or value of your order, your stated location and our normal methods of despatch.
When purchasing from the shopping basket of this web site the total amount of your invoice includes all of your shipping charges whereas prices quoted directly from us (for example by telephone) are subject to postage charges quoted separately. However, Blunderbuss Antiques reserves the right to surcharge any orders that are of an extreme weight outside of the pre-computed weight tables preloaded into the web site.
U.K. ORDERS :
Postage charges are Automatically calculated via our Shopping basket system & are based on a flat rate of
£ 9. 00 maximum per total order for packages weighing 500g - 10 kgs ( which 95% of our orders seem to be).
Packages weighing 10 - 20 kgs are charged at £12.00 per order.
Orders are generally despatched by APC Carriers on a 24 hour service or by Parcelforce 48 hour service depending on destination.
Items of excessive size and / or weight are sent by Road Carriers and prices are available on request - such items are noted in their descriptions.
SMALL, LIGHTWEIGHT ITEMS: UK DESTINATIONS:
Postage charges for small items such as insignia, individual pouches, personal equipment and small printed items etc are based on lower rates and are sent by either Special Delivery or Recorded Delivery services only, depending on the value, size & weight of the order. Charges will vary from £3.50 to £6.00.
Please note that we do not despatch items by ordinary, un signed for post.
EXPORT ORDERS : Charges are Automatically calculated via our Shopping basket, with a Minimum charge of £6.50 per total order. This charge includes insurance and is a "signed for" service.
We have no control over the prices charged to us by our postal service.

Orders are despatched as appropriate to the size, value & contents of the order and in accordance with the regulations of the U.K or destination country's postal regulations.
UNITED KINGDOM
The majority of our orders weighing 500g or more (packaged) are now despatched by APC Carrier 24 hour Service and comes with an email notification informing you that your order is on its way, providing you have supplied us with an email address,
This enables us to despatch regularly, up to 4 times a week, straight from our premises for delivery within 1 working day.
We will still use Parcelforce 48 hour service depending on your location (mainly the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and some other UK locations).
Smaller items are sent by 1st Class Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery letter post.
Please note that orders are not necessarily despatched daily . Please allow up to 7 days for UK delivery.
EUROPE
Air mail signed for letter post or Euro Priority service with a delivery time of between 2 and 5 days.
REST OF THE WORLD
Air mail signed for letter post or International Global Priority (Parcel Post).

All of our despatches are made using signed for services so that they can be tracked en route and signed for on delivery. We do not send any items by ordinary post as we have recently encountered problems over proof of delivery.
The postage methods used include insurance coverage for the goods sent based on the regulations supplied and limits imposed by the relevant carriers used ( APC, Parcel Force and Royal Mail). Any claims for loss or damage will be settled when the claims process is completed by the carrier concerned.
All despatches with a value of over £100 are covered by our own Insurance policy for goods in transit. There is no extra charge for this, we include it in our service to you. Please note that, in the event of a claim, the first £50.00 is not claimable. Return to Top Payment

DEBIT CARDS : WE ACCEPT MAESTRO / SWITCH, DELTA & CONNECT DEBIT CARDS for which there is no additional fee charged unless the total value of the order is £10.00 or under, when we will apply a .75p service / processing charge.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DEBIT CARDS ON NON UK BANKS INCUR A SURCHARGE OF 2.5% as our card company charges this to us as a handling fee.

Please note that we are able to despatch orders to a different delivery address if required. If you wish to use this option please ensure that you have supplied the name & address that the card is registered with. Security checks are made during the authorisation process and should the details not be confirmed, a delay will occur whilst we contact you for further information.
CHEQUES (UK only). Made payable to BLUNDERBUSS ANTIQUES and with your CHEQUE GUARANTEE CARD number on the back. We reserve the right to clear cheques through our bank before despatching goods. If a cheque should be returned to us as unpaid, title to the goods remains with Blunderbuss Antiques until the matter is settled.
WE CANNOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHEQUES IN FOREIGN CURRENCY, DRAWN ON BANKS OUTSIDE OF THE U.K. Please do not send such a cheque as delay will occur whilst we return it to you.
We also accept payments by Sterling Bank Draft or International Money Order (IN BRITISH POUNDS STERLING & MADE PAYABLE TO BLUNDERBUSS ANTIQUES)
BANK TRANSFER PAYMENTS. Payment can be made by IBAN / SWIFT , however due to rising bank charges, we can only accept bank transfer payments for orders totalling £ 250 or more.

POSTAL ORDERS: Crossed and made payable to BLUNDERBUSS ANTIQUES.
CASH. If you wish to pay by cash, please send it by REGISTERED MAIL ONLY. For your own security we insist that you do not send cash by any other means and we will not be responsible should such payments be lost in the post .
PAYPAL : We can now accept payments by PAYPAL. If you wish to choose this method of payment please place your order on our website and choose Paypal as your option. Please note that a surcharge of 4 % will be added to the total order, to cover the high cost of Paypal fees.
If for some reason you should send your Paypal payment seperately from our ordering system, please ensure that you have added the 4% surcharge fee to your order.

These items are immediately removed from the site & reserved for you for 5 days (8 days for export orders). If payment is not received within this time, the goods will be returned to stock to give other customers a chance to purchase them.

The responsibility lies with the customer to ensure that any goods ordered are allowed to be imported into your country.
In our experience, the items that we sell can be imported without any problems, however some countries have import restrictions on antique firearms, edged weapons & inert munitions. Therefore we suggest that you check with the appropriate import authorities regarding import restrictions that may apply.
If an item is seized by your country's customs authorities and will not be released, we are unable to offer a refund. Therefore we repeat that we advise you to check with the appropriate import authorities regarding import restrictions that may apply.
If an item has to be returned because it cannot be imported to your country, we can offer other goods to the same value in exchange, less any return postage & import costs incurred by us, but are unable to give a refund.
Due to recent & very obvious problems with airline security, we can no longer export inert grenades, ordnance, munitions etc by Air Mail. However, we can despatch these items by Surface Mail, at your own risk, if required. Details of services are available on request.

We try to be as accurate as possible when describing the condition of articles offered for sale. However, as the majority of items are well over 60 years old, allowance must be made for their being in existence, and stored, for this amount of time.
Modern Items
We use a condition / quality grading system, based on "marks out of 10". Basically the higher the number, the better the condition. Any individual defects, whatever the overall condition, are noted in the general description of the item.
Items are described in the following categories, the grade number is shown at the end of the description of the item in the website:
10 : Excellent, sometimes unissued, condition with nearly all of the original finish or paint work. No wear or damage, but perhaps with some slight storage marks. Note: if we give an item a 10 + it will be in virtually as new condition
9 : Excellent condition with more noticeable storage marks, but very little wear.
8 : Very good, used condition. Issued with slight wear / staining to the surface or edges, achieved during normal use or storage, but no damage or repairs.
6 To 7 : Good, used condition. Average wear & tear. Light surface marks or dents achieved through normal, military use. Some items lightly repaired or refinished / repainted where necessary.
5 : Sound condition, well used but still serviceable. Paint work / finish worn or surface is pitted and / or dented. Properly repaired or repainted where necessary (Very little of our stock falls into this category.)
+ / ++: Slightly better than the stated grade number, but not quite of the next, higher grade.
Antique Items
Our numbered grading cannot be accurately applied to antique items & the overall condition is stated in the description of the item concerned.
REPAIRS & RENOVATIONS:
Due to the age of the antique items offered, contemporary / period repairs may have been made to some items.
Such period repairs are not always noted in the descriptions, unless the repair work is substantial enough to be of note and have a bearing on the overall value of the stated item. Minor repairs to the woodwork of an antique firearm would not normally be noted, especially as many such repairs could have been made in the working life of the item. Again in the case of antique firearms some internal mechanism parts may have been repaired / replaced (sears, springs etc) and may not be noted.
Please understand that we do not sell any heavily restored items, and pieces with notable repairs (contemporary or later) will always be noted as such. Please note that, although we try to describe such items as accurately as possible, not every small blemish can be listed. Any sizes stated are based on existing labels or visible markings. In the absence of such labels or markings, all sizes given are approximate, and are not to be taken as guaranteed. Chest (ch) and waist (w) sizes are given in inches (ins) unless stated. Headgear and footwear sizes are shown in the size range relevant to the country of origin and may differ from U.K sizes, notably U.S head & foot sizes which are usually one "size mark" larger than U.K equivalents. If in doubt, just ask us !
Please note that although there is a growing trend in the field of re- enactment & living history, and many customers purchase items to be worn at such events, we supply items solely for COLLECTOR’S, DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY & such items are not intended for actual wear or use.
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE FITTING OF ANY EQUIPMENT, CLOTHING, FOOTWEAR OR HEADGEAR, NOR THEIR SUITABILITY FOR BEING WORN. THEREFORE WE ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO ACCEPT RETURNED ITEMS ON THE BASIS OF THEIR NOT FITTING A CUSTOMER.

WW2 : 2nd World War period issue (1939-1945). Manufactured for issue during, or before, this period.
WW1 : 1st World War period issue (1914-1918). Manufactured for issue during, or before, this period.
VIETNAM , KOREAN WAR, GULF WAR etc : Type as used at the time of this conflict, but not necessarily actually used in that country.
PATTERN : Denotes a particular model of weapon, clothing or equipment etc. Usually accompanied by a year, number or other distinct term (i.e. M3, M1944, P1937, 2nd pattern).
TYPE, STYLE : Original military issue, made or issued after a particular wartime period, but with the appearance of the period article.
REPLICA / REPRODUCTION: Modern made copies of an original item intended for Display, Re -Enactment or Living History etc. Such items are noted in their title and / or description..
Gold, Silver & Bronze : The terms Gold, Silver, Bronze etc relate to the coloured finish, or issue/awarded grade of the item concerned ( mostly insignia), and not to the actual content of the metal used, unless stated otherwise.
PUBLICATIONS REFERRED TO FOR REFERENCE: We do not often refer to reference books when describing our items however sometimes we find it helpful to do so. You may find a note in an item's description appearing as Watts & White Ref xxx or Ken Lewis Page xxx or similar. These references are purely offered for guidance only and to assist you in identifying an item and, perhaps, its technical history.
